BEACHES

Dominican Republic is best know for its white sand beaches the run through the horizon and slim coconut trees that line these amazing beaches.

CUEVA DE LAS MARAVILLAS

This enormous cave system houses hundreds of well-preserved Taino pictographs and petroglyphs dating back thousands of years. This is one of the most accessible caverns in the DR, thanks to an excellent lighting system, ramps, a footpath and a modern elevator.

ISLA SAONA

Located (12 miles) south of the mainland, Saona Island’s picture-perfect beaches attract more visitors than all of the country’s national parks combined. You can visit these islands by taking a day trip to enjoy its beaches.

HOYO AZUL

Tucked inside Scape Park, in the Cap Cana area, this “blue hole” cenote offers a refreshing swim in natural, cool spring waters. Surrounded in lush rainforest, Hoyo Azul, approximately 45 feet in depth, sits at the foot of a 246-foot tall limestone cliff covered in vegetation.

SCUBA DIVING & SNORKELING

In the DR you will find lots of amazing spots where you can dive among coral reefs, caves, remains of galleons, shipwrecks and amazing marine life.

HORSEBACK RIDING

You can horseback ride along the hills, and colorful villages of the DR in any location countrywide. Puerto Plata’s hills are difficult to beat, with a lush terrain that passes by rivers, cattle, and vast swaths of pure Caribbean scenery.

ICONIC SIGHTS

Tour the Caribbean’s largest botanical gardens, visit the first established city of the New World, Columbus’ home, hike nature reserves hiding Taino caves, and stroll world-famous beaches. There are plenty of options to choose from.

RUM & CIGARS

Tour a cigar factory in the hills of Santiago, or kick back with a puro post-meal at a cigar bar in Santo Domingo. You can also visit the historical center of one of the top rum brands in the country. Know the history of rum making in DR, its role in the culture, Barceló’s manufacturing process, tour the rum barrel storage areas, get to taste the various Barceló varieties of rum.
