Take a Photo
Take a photo of the contents in your luggage, which will be very useful in case your bag gets lost and you have to submit a claim with the airline.
Empty your Luggage
Check all luggage pockets to make sure you don’t have anything that will cause TSA to inspect your bag.

Double check your luggage tags to make sure they have your updated information.

Weigh & Measure It
If you’re checking a bag or your carry-on has a weight limit, make sure you weigh it so you don’t go over the allotted weight limit. Overweight luggage is really expensive. Make sure the bags are within the measurements the airlines require.
Can you Carry it?
Make sure you can carry the luggage you’re taking. If you have a carry-on, make sure you can handle the weight and are able to place it in the overhead bin. Remember, flight attendants do not put your luggage in the overhead bins for you.

Make sure you have enough medication to last you while you’re gone, plus a few more days in case of any delays or unforeseen situations.
Check your Boarding Pass & Itinerary
On departure date, double check your boarding pass and make sure you have the latest information regarding your airport departure gate. Airlines tend to change them last minute quite often. Make sure you’re flying out on the right date.
Check the Travel Requirements
Make sure you have all the necessary visas, entry forms, vaccines, etc. prior to departure date. Remember to check the expiration date of your passport.

It’s not easy being stranded in a foreign country with no passport. It will definitely ruin your vacation.
Print all of your Travel Documents
Print boarding passes, hotel reservations and any other type of reservation you may have done for your trip. Not all places are mobile friendly and batteries die, plus phones get stolen. Is always good to have it paper, just in case.
Scan or Photograph
Scan or photograph your passport, ID and credit cards. This would help in case your wallet gets lost or stolen, by giving you access to your account numbers, if needed.

Take some Cash in
Local Currency
It’s always good to have some cash, in small bills, so you can use for tipping. Don’t forget to change cash to another currency, if required at your destination.

Make sure you have enough funds to cover your vacation expenses and make sure your bank is aware of your trip. You don’t want your credit cards blocked in a middle of a transaction half way across the world.

Make sure you download your airline app so you can easily check and get up to date notifications in case of any changes with your flight.
Charge your Devices
Make sure you charge all of your devices the night before depaeture, you don’t want to run out of charge when you’re about to show your boarding pass at the gate.
Download Travel Apps
Download apps such as Google Maps, any translation apps, etc. Make sure you download a map of the city you’re visiting so you can use it offline in case you have no internet or wifi access. Google Maps works perfectly offline..

Make sure you know the emergency numbers of the countries/cities you will be visiting. You never know if you might need them.
Pay your Bills in Advance
Make sure all your bills that are due during the time you’ll be gone are paid for before you leave home. Who wants to worry about paying bills when you’re on vacation?

Make sure you have important phone numbers stored in your mobile device. You don’t want to have a situation abroad and need to call someone and not remember the phone number.
